Paudash Lake Fish Stocking Has Begun!

Good news - Paudash Lake has been approved for a Lake Trout stocking project, that will take place over the next 5 years. This initiative is being funded and administered by the Ministry of Natural Resources in conjunction with the North Hastings Community Fish Hatchery, where these fingerlings were raised.

Earlier this year, in April, 4300 fingerlings were introduced into both North Bay and Joe Bay. These are the deepest parts of Paudash Lake. This action will be repeated over the next few years with these local genetic lake trout. Most of the fish released were already 6-8 inches in length.

In appreciation of this, the PLCA has made a donation to the Hatchery’s ‘Adopt a Brook Trout’ campaign and we urge others to do the same.
